Frequently asked questions

How does settlement work?

At the end of the night, enter each player's final chip count. The app compares that against everyone's buy-ins and calculates the smallest possible set of payments so the fewest people have to send the fewest transfers. Mark each payment as paid to keep the books closed.

Do I need an account or internet connection?

No. There are no accounts and no sign-ups, and every core feature — game setup, chip distribution, buy-in tracking, settlement, history, and stats — works fully offline. Your data lives on your device.

How do I add friends?

Friends are optional and use your iCloud account. Open the Pals tab, show your QR code or friend code to a friend, and they scan or enter it to send a request. Both devices need to be signed in to iCloud.

Friend features aren't working — what should I check?

Make sure you're signed in to iCloud in the iPhone's Settings, iCloud Drive is enabled, and you have an internet connection. Friend requests can take a moment to arrive; pull to refresh in the Pals tab.

How do I back up or export my data?

Settings → Export All Data creates a complete JSON export of your games, players, and stats that you can save anywhere.

How do I delete my data or account?

Deleting a game removes it permanently, and deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. If you used the friends feature, Settings → Delete Account & Cloud Data permanently removes your profile, friend connections, and shared games from iCloud — friends keep games already shared with them, and your local games stay on your device. See the privacy policy for details.

Is this a gambling app?

No. Home Poker Tracker Pal is a scorekeeping and settlement calculator — the digital version of the notepad next to the chips. No money is wagered, deposited, or paid out through the app.
