Home Poker Tracker Pal
Privacy Policy
The short version: Home Poker Tracker Pal works offline and stores your poker games on your device. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. We never sell your data. The only information that ever leaves your device is the optional friend profile (display name, avatar, and friend code) you create if you choose to use the friends feature, which is stored in Apple's iCloud (CloudKit).
1. Who we are
Home Poker Tracker Pal ("the App") is developed and operated by an independent developer ("we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, contact us at ytenemaza@gmail.com.
2. Data stored on your device
Everything you create in the App — games, player names, chip sets, buy-ins, settlements, statistics, and preferences — is stored locally on your device. This data is under your control at all times:
- We cannot see or access it.
- It is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
- Deleting a game in the App, or deleting the App itself, permanently removes the corresponding data from your device.
3. Optional iCloud features (friends and game sharing)
If you choose to use the friends feature, the App stores a small profile in Apple's iCloud service (CloudKit) so your friends can find and connect with you. This profile consists of:
- Display name — the name you choose to show friends;
- Avatar photo — an optional image you select;
- Friend code — a short identifier generated by the App so friends can add you.
This profile is stored in CloudKit's public database, which we, as the operator of the App, are technically able to access. We use it solely to make the friends feature work — to let people you invite find your profile and to deliver friend requests. We do not use it for any other purpose, and we never combine it with data from other sources.
When you share game results with friends, the shared game data travels through your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit sharing. It is accessible only to you and the friends you share it with — we cannot read it.
Use of iCloud features is subject to Apple's own terms and privacy policy. iCloud features require being signed in to an Apple Account on your device; all core features of the App work without one.
4. Camera
The App requests camera access only when you choose to scan a friend's QR code. The camera feed is processed on-device to read the code; no photos or video are captured, stored, or transmitted.
5. Notifications
If you enable notifications, the App uses Apple's push notification service to alert you about friend requests and accepted invitations. These notifications are delivered through CloudKit; we do not operate our own notification servers.
6. What we don't do
- No advertising and no advertising SDKs.
- No analytics or telemetry — we do not know how you use the App, or that you use it at all.
- No tracking across apps or websites, as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal information with third parties — ever.
- No accounts, passwords, or email sign-ups.
7. Data retention and deletion
Local data stays on your device until you delete it. Your optional friend profile remains in CloudKit for as long as you use the friends feature.
You can delete your account directly in the App: Settings → Delete Account & Cloud Data. This immediately and permanently removes your profile (display name, avatar, friend code, payment info), all of your friend connections, and every game you have shared from CloudKit. Games that friends already received are kept by them on their own devices — deleting your account removes your identifying data without deleting other players' records of games they took part in. Games stored locally on your own device are not affected; you can delete those separately in the App.
You can also remove individual friends at any time, or email us at ytenemaza@gmail.com to request deletion — we will complete emailed requests within 30 days.
8. Security
Data stored in iCloud is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. Local data is protected by your device's built-in security (device encryption and your passcode/biometrics).
9. Children
The App is a scorekeeping utility intended for adults hosting card games. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the friends feature, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK under the GDPR and California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing. Because the only personal information we hold is the optional friend profile described in section 3, we handle all such requests directly by email: ytenemaza@gmail.com. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right. Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are the performance of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b)) for the friends feature, and our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in operating and securing it; you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
11. International transfers
iCloud data is stored on Apple's servers, which may be located outside your country. Apple provides appropriate safeguards for international data transfers as described in its own privacy documentation.
12. Real-money disclaimer
The App is a scorekeeping and settlement calculator for in-person games. It does not offer gambling, does not process payments, and no money is wagered, deposited, or transferred through the App.
13. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above, and where appropriate note the change in the App's release notes. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
